The Galesburg Community Arts Center announces a call to artists for its annual Members and Friends Exhibition. Families, individuals, professional artists, and amateur artists are all encouraged to participate. $10 GCAC Member Entry/$15 Nonmember

THE JUROR…

LOIS McCOY, born and raised in Trivoli, Illinois, is celebrating her 100th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than to be honored by an organization she has been a member of for more than 70years who is also celebrating their centennial. Lois has been part of Members & Friends for many years, winning awards for her photography, painting, and drawings.

Originally a member of the Galesburg Civic Art League, I have been part of exciting periods of growth, first when we moved into our first home and changed our name to the Civic Art Center, and now in our new home as the Community Arts Center.”

Artwork Delivery

  • Artwork may be delivered or shipped to the Arts Center at 349 E. Main St., July 20 - 22, during regular open hours Tuesday - Friday 10-4pm, Saturday 10-3pm (Artwork shipped in, must include a UPS or FedEx return label) OR July 26, 27, 28, 10am - 4pm, July 29, 1-3pm

  • Artwork may be picked up Sept 9, 2-4pm, Sept 12-14, during regular open hours 10 - 4pm.

  • The Arts Center will not be held responsible for artwork left more than 45 days from the last day of pick-up. If alternative arrangements are not made for pick up, and artwork is left past 45 days, artwork becomes the property of the Arts Center.

Artwork Guidelines

  • Only original work of the artist, no signed, printed reproductions

  • Artwork produced within the last 2 years

  • Any media accepted

  • One entry per artist

  • Must be ready to hang (with wire) or stand securely*

  • Artwork weight no more than 100 pounds

  • Artwork must not exceed 48” as its largest dimension

  • Artwork must not have been included in previous exhibitions at the Arts Center, or displayed in the gift shop.

  • The Arts Center reserves the right to refuse artwork that does not meet the requirements above, or is found unsuitable for exhibiting (*this includes not having a wire or other hanging apparatus)

Entry Fees

GCAC Member $10.00/Friends (non-members) $15.00 (Would you like to renew your membership or join? Visit Member Perks!)

Friends (non-members) must live within a 50 mile radius of Galesburg to enter. No mileage limit for members of the Arts Center.

If artwork is to be made available for sale, please price work with the following in mind: 70% to artist, 30% to GCAC.
