General Information

The Galesburg Community Arts Center is pleased to welcome groups of all ages (pre-K through high school, and beyond) to our space for field trip experiences! While general entry to the Galesburg Community Arts Center gift shop and galleries is always free, guided tours, workshops, interactive activities, and art-making experiences are available for reservation for groups at the rates below. Experiences can easily be tailored to your group’s specific needs and interests, or to align with our rotating exhibition programming. Please consult with us if you have something particular in mind!

Field trips may be coordinated with the Arts Center for days when we are not open to the general public (e.g. Mondays and Tuesdays). Please let us know your preferred visit dates well in advance, so that we can ensure we have the necessary staff available to accommodate your visit.

CHAPERONES | At least 1 adult chaperone is required for every 5 children, with additional chaperones as needed for children with special support needs or requirements. Chaperones may attend for free (there is no additional cost for chaperones). If you are unable to secure enough chaperones for your group size, please let us know in advance and we may be able to coordinate staff or volunteers to assist your group!

Field Trip Rates

  • Base group rate, which includes guided gallery tour and interactive activities with GCAC staff/docent, but no art-making or take-home craft.

  • Activities + lessons can be tailored to any age group, pre-K through high school, or beyond (e.g. chat with a curator for college-level students).

ART: EXPLORE | $8 - $9 per head

  • Group rate, which includes guided gallery tour.

  • Group art/craft activity or exploration. Students will get to make something hands-on, but will not take home an individual craft/artwork. • RECOMMENDED for younger age groups (pre-K through middle school).

ART: CREATE | $12 per head

  • Group rate, which includes guided gallery tour.

  • Includes individual make-and-take craft, or guided art-making experience. Everyone takes home something they individually made; more of a structured format. GCAC arts education supplies + staff provided.

  • RECOMMENDED for older age groups (middle + high school).

Experiences can be tailored to your group’s specific needs; please consult with us if you have something in mind!

Rates are based on an average visit length of an hour and fifteen minutes, and the presumed availability of our galleries for a tour (please consult with us to ensure we will have artwork in our spaces during your visit). Rates are subject to change.
